Frédéric Abbal visits Schneider Electric Egypt & NEA & meets Egyptian Prime Minister
Executive Vice-President, Energy Business, Schneider Electric, Discusses Joint Projects with the Egyptian government
Cairo, Egypt: 29th September 2015 Frédéric Abbal, Schneider Electric’s Executive Vice-President for Energy Business and Member of the Executive Committee, recently visited Cairo where he met the Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, General Mohamed Al-Assar Minister of Military Production, Dr. Mohammed Shaker Minister of Electricity and Energy, and General Khalid Fouda Governor of South Sinai, to discuss the company’s current and future projects in cooperation with the Egyptian government.
The meetings were held in presence of Albert Fuchet, Country President Egypt & Northeast Africa, Mohamed Saad Zone President Africa and Caribbean and Sherif Abdel Fattah Vice President for Governmental Affairs & Renewable Energy.
The Prime Minister pointed out that there are great business opportunities for the company in the national electricity grid development. As well as well that the government is working to convert Sharm El Sheikh into a green city where Schneider Electric could have the chance to contribute in this project.
It is worth mentioning that Schneider Electric is looking to pump more investments in new projects in Egypt, adding that it has a proposal for implementation of solar power plant with a capacity of 50 megawatts in Southern Sinai which will contribute to raising the national electricity grid efficiency.

During his visit, F.Abbal met some of Ain Shams students also met Dr. Mahmoud Abd El Hameed Chairman of Energy Program – Faculty of Engineering - Ain Shams University who rewarded a trophy of apprecaitaion to Abbal while they were discussing the future of energy in the Egyptian institutions.
In order to meet with our SE leaders and managers a connexion session was organized in which he discussed some business related and the future of Schneider Elecitic Egypt.
His visit was concluded by a business dinner with our top customers.
It is also worth mentioning that F.Abbal was the country president of Schneider Electric NEA operations back in 2002-2006.
