    Memorandum of understanding signed with the Enviornmental Compliance Office at the Federation of Egyptian Industries

    Recently Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa signed a memorandum of understanding with the Enviornmental Compliance Office at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, which was held at the Federation’s building.

    The MOU that concluded promoting Energy Efficiency within the Egyptian Industrial community was signed and Mr. Emmanuel Lemasson, Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa President, and by Dr. Sherif El Gabaly member of the executive board of the federation and head of the Environmental Compliance Office and Chamber of Chemical Industries.

    The initiative aims mainly at helping the Egyptian industrial community in
    Developing environmental awareness.
    Improving the energy efficiency of industrial sites in Egypt.
    Setting norms and standards for environmental performance.
    Helping to apply environmental regulations early and widely.
    Mitigating risk exposure of industrial sites in Egypt.
    Transferring knowledge and Technology to increase competitiveness of Egyptian industries in the global arena.


    Mr. Lemasson said “Nowadays, we all live in a world of increasing demand; people became more demanding, consumption is constantly growing, and the population is exponentially soaring. This all happens at the time when our planet resources became scarcer.
    That’s why organizations like Schneider Electric and ECO have an important and urgent role towards our society. This agreement is a
    Dr. El Gabaly said that the ECO achieved positive outcomes when it comes to efficiency in the Egyptian industry.  “Emission heat recovery by 25%, steam systems and heat insulation system efficiency and savings by 10%, industrial kilns and boiler fuel efficiency and savings reached 7%.”, he explained.
     “Schneider Electric has proven results of this commitment worldwide and was able to save 15% energy on its sites (Reduced energy consumption per production site employee by 10% (in MWh/year). And locally we have witnessed this at our new eco-friendly plant in Badr City. It has a an eco-energy efficient design and uses the latest technologies to limit the greenhouse emissions (permanent energy efficiency monitoring)”, added Mr. Lemasson.
    The Eco office is certified to conduct energy audits in 10 different industries, and can assist in funding efficiency projects within the Egyptian industry.
