    Schneider Electric Celebrates another Year of Achievements in the Egyptian Market

    The global specialist in energy management and automation affirms its commitment to the Egyptian market and announces its new strategy “Life is On” in local and global markets

    Cairo, Egypt: 17 January, 2016 - Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, held a press conference today to announce its new global brand strategy, Life is On in Egypt, affirming its commitment to this hub market in order to achieve sustainability, efficiency, reliability, and safety to its customers. The press conference was attended by Mohamed Saad, Zone President, Schneider Electric Africa & Caribbean, Albert Fuchet, Country President, Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa, and business sectors’ heads; Moneim El Fakharany, Vice President for Information Technology BU, Schneider Electric Egypt & North East Africa; and Mohamed Shaheen Director of Industry BU, Schneider Electric Egypt & North East Africa.

    Schneider Electric's new brand strategy comes at a critical time of transition for the industry, in which the business and societal landscape are being transformed by urbanization, digitization and industrialization. That strategy, Life Is On, is fueled by Schneider Electric’s Operational Intelligence approach to Internet of Things (IoT). The approach will transform how people and organizations consume energy, better automate industrial processes, and increase the quality of business decisions, while improving their lives.

    The Life Is On brand strategy will help clearly show how the company is helping its customers around the world to take advantage of this fundamental shift, leveraging Schneider Electric’s expertise in the operational technology (OT) that controls our society’s most important processes and connecting it to the information technology (IT) that we rely on to simplify our lives and make better decisions. This approach, which Schneider Electric refers to as building Operational Intelligence, relies on optimized automation and control, advanced remote management, predictive maintenance, enabling managed services, advanced analytics and generation of actionable information to drive informed decision-making in our homes, manufacturing facilities, data centers, buildings and cities.

At the same time, IT became an indispensable tool for achieving integration in production process, the issue we are trying to emphasize through our new strategy,” said Albert Fuchet, Country President, Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa. “Our willingness to launch the new strategy in the Egyptian market, falls within our commitment to this market as a regional hub for our business in the region and one of the largest markets that have enormous potentials” added Fuchet.

    During the press conference, Heads of IT, and Industry business units demonstrated the nature of operations they are leading in Energy, Industry & IT by conducting detailed PPTs of key solutions and products Schneider Electric is offering to its customers. In energy, Schneider Electric enjoys a leading position as one of the largest companies worldwide in producing MV distribution cells and energy automation solutions with sales volume reached € 5.7bn last year.

    Schneider Electric has more than 250 service centers and more than 90 production facilities worldwide. In Industry, Schneider Electric's business volume reaches € 5.6 billion, which enables the company to occupy the 2nd position in automation solutions. Industry contributes 22% to the company’s total revenues.Schneider Electric is the first company in producing starters and push worldwide. In 2014, industry sector revenues amounted to €4.3 bn including data centers' business revenues. Schneider Electric ranks first globally in business and home network solutions.     Schneider Electric shows a specific interest in the Egyptian market, which is a regional hub for the company's operation in MENA and other African markets. This drove the company to participate in many initiatives that cater to the interest of the country and its people, Schneider Electric is a supporter of the Pyramids Scan Project, a unique mission to discover the secrets of Giza Pyramids and the magnificent glory of Egyptian civilization with the Ministry of Antiquities, the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University and the French Heritage, Innovation and Preservation (HIP) Institute.

    The project kicked off last October and has made remarkable results thus far which paves the way for further investigations.
