    Schneider Electric Egypt & NEA in cooperation with NASS Academy Honors First Graduates of “Egypt’s Professional Electrician” Program

    Cairo, Egypt: February 10th, 2015 - As a part of its commitment to support the local community by building the capacity of Egyptian technicians’ skills, Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa, in cooperation with National Academy for Science and Skills “NASS”, recently implemented the “Egypt’s Professional Electrician”.

    The program objective is helping local electricians meet the international benchmark of electrical maintenance so they will be well-prepared and qualified to compete on a global level and enhance the electrical maintenance sector in the local market.

    Schneider Electric and NASS Academy awarded graduation certificates to the first batch of professional electricians. The training course included hands-on training on international best practices related to energy efficiency and electrical fixtures. During the event, the guests were guided through Schneider Electric’s innovative lab in the Academy’s premises in 6th October city.

    The graduation ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Laila Iskander, Minister for Urban Renewal and Informal Settlement; Albert Fuchet, Country President Schneider Electric Egypt& NEA, Prof. Dr. Karim Samy Saad, Chairman of National Academy for Science and Skills; Prof. Dr. Omar Abdel Qawy, Dean of National Academy for Science and Skills; and Saif El Demerdash, Distribution Sales Manager, Schneider Electric Egypt& NEA.

    The training program included three phases: the first phase comprises the establishment of a new vocational qualification system according to international benchmarks for electrical maintenance across several specializations, in cooperation with NASS Academy and Schneider Electric in France.

    The second phase includes a program to raise the efficiency of technicians and merge them into the new system to serve the local market with higher efficiency and safety standards.

    The third phase focuses on creating new job opportunities corresponding to the highly- qualified trainees.
