Schneider Electric Participates in MOC Exhibition and Conference 2016
Minster of Petroleum opens Schneider Electric booth and praises the company’s integrated solutions dedicated to the oil and natural gas sector
Cairo, Egypt: 27 April 2016 - Stemming from its commitment to enhancing the operations of Egypt’s oil and gas sector, Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, participated in the 8th edition of the MOC Exhibition and Conference 2016. The event was held from 19-21 April at the fairgrounds at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, under the auspices of H.E. Eng. Shrief Ismail, Prime Minister of Egypt, and the leadership of H.E. Eng. Tarek Al Molla, Minister of Petroleum of Egypt. The MOC Exhibition and Conference is a key trading event for companies operating in energy industry, serving as a regional platform for bilateral relations between the areas north and south of the Mediterranean basin in the oil and gas sector.
Schneider Electric Egypt, North East Africa was represented in MOC 2016 by a high-level delegation headed by Eng. Khalid Kamel, Vice President for Energy and Exportation, Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa. The company showcased its latest products and innovative solutions for the oil and gas industry. This year’s conference tackled a wide range of topics including drilling technology and innovation as well as production management.

The company's participation at MOC included diversified offerings of fully integrated solutions to keep pace with the energy sector's growing needs, particularly in Egypt as a key Mediterranean market.
Schneider Electric constantly seeks to provide solutions to mitigate potential risks and improve profitability by increasing production and reducing costs. This can be achieved by utilizing the company's integrated solutions, including real-time performance and measurement tools using intuitive and user-friendly interface throughout its entire production lifecycle. These products include Modicon M580 PLC, New Compact Modular Switchgear (Premset range) with Shielded Solid Insulation System, and New Arc Flash Protection Relay (VAMP 321).
Globally, Schneider Electric acquired Invensys Process Systems in January 2014, a deal which significantly enhanced its global position as a leading provider of software and automation solutions aiming to increase operational performance and mechanical safety, while maximizing productivity and profitability. Schneider Electric has participated in number of key projects in the Egyptian market, including Al Borollos Project, SUMED Sokhna Terminal Storage capacity expansion, E-Houses for Petrobel, among others.
This is Schneider Electric’s first year participating in the MOC Exhibition and Conference which provides a platform for Mediterranean countries to discuss recent developments in the oil and energy industry. More than 7,000 attendees participated at MOC this year representing 24 nations including France, Germany, China, Russia, Cyprus, Saudi, Morocco, and others.
