Ask a Question

what is the expected Derating for GV2ME ?

The circuit breakers GV2ME have a temperature compensation and the Operating Temperature range defined as:
-20 to +60°C ..... open mounted
-20 to +40°C ..... In enclosure.

We recommend the customer to use the GV2ME within these limits and try to have good ventilation inside the panel for the reduced temperature.

If you use GV2ME inside enclosure you have to derate by 1% in respect of each 1°C increment above temperature 40°C.
Example: If thermal tripping level is 10A at 30°C, then when temperature is 45°C you have to adjust the dial to 10A+(45-40)%=10A+5%=10.5A

If GV2ME is open-mounted, then you have to derate by 1% in respect of each 1°C increment above temperature 60°C.
Example: If thermal tripping level is 10A at 30°C, then when temperature is 70°C you have to adjust the dial to 10A+(70-60)%=10A+10%=11A

In any case you could not go with the temperature above 70°C for open mounted and 50°C in enclosure.

However, please note that the above derating indicators must be utilized at the customer`s risk, as we do not guarantee an optimum performance at the increased temperature level beyond the one`s defined in the catalog.
